"Pure" Soy Candles. We have a wonderful new candle line that is more in sync with our "green" philosophy. This natural candle from "Pure" has a substantial fragrance throw, and the company's "Naturally no Chemicals" philosophy makes it one of the best soy candles in the marketplace today. The beautiful glass container is green with a white scroll design; the bonus is that it becomes a drinking glass when the candle is gone! All the product packaging is 100% recycled as well. Recycled and reused...practicality with beauty. And of course, we have 5 awesome fragrances: Bamboo, White, Black Current Lime, Amber, and Mandarin Pomegranate. |

Part of the mission statement for 505 Imports includes the following sentence:
We have taken the responsibility to seek environmentally friendly wood products that not only are beautiful but also are recycled or sustainable harvested renewable materials.
Our goal at 505 is to become a member of the Sustainable Furniture Council, and we are working toward that end. In the meantime, we are taking the beginning steps to make choices that are friendly to the environment.
Our furniture line from Indonesia already includes many products that are made from sustainable harvested renewable materials. Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing natural resources on the earth; many pieces of furniture at 505 are made from bamboo, water hyacinth, banana leaf, or abaca, featuring that beautiful, natural quality of the environment.
When you visit 505, ask about the products we carry that are earth friendly. Let's all do our part to preserve our beautiful planet! |

Rebekah Dressler, one of the owners of 505 Imports, just returned from another exciting trip to India. Her visit this time included more than the customary visits to the 505 factories. She also spent time in Delhi and Jaipur, sourcing dupioni silk and hand-blocked fabrics to develop new lines of bedding, drapery and other textiles. Her time in Jodhpur was spent developing new collections: a Spanish-inspired line, a beautiful chunky rustic line, and several contemporary lines. Also, new kitchen and bath pieces with marble or granite tops have been added to the 505 furniture line-up. It was a very productive trip, except for the mosquito-driven hospital visit. (Chikungunya fever is alive and well in India.) Rebekah always seems to have some drama in her India adventures. |

At 505 Imports we believe in appealing to a range of people--through design styles, different woods, and varied price ranges. We look for products that are exclusive and high-end, but we also love to offer beautiful yet affordable finds. Don't be afraid to look closer at the price tags; you will find some amazing "deals" that we pass along to you on products from Bali and Delhi. But also, you will find many "one-of-a-kind" items that appeal to those who want something special and unique...and who are willing to pay for it. We truly believe that there's "something for everyone at 505!"
